About us

Home Tuition Service

The Home Tuition Service is an interim educational service that provides support to students who are unable to attend school due to health needs.

There may be occasions on which support is also provided to students who have educational health care plans who the local authority is planning full time provision for.

The aim of the service is to ensure that the education that each student receives enables them to reintegrate successfully back into school as soon as possible.

Tuition is provided on a 1.1 basis in the core subjects – English and Maths. This can take place within the home or a suitable alternative location depending on the needs of the student.

Nearly all students are reintegrated back into full time mainstream education. There are some who are reintegrated into full time education within alternative or specialist provisions if this is deemed to be appropriate to their level of need.

Our Home Tuition Service is based at the Erkenwald Campus and the Service Manager is Mr Keith Dhannie. We follow the Statutory Guidance issued by the Department for Education. You can find a copy of the guidance by clicking here.
