There’s more to school than being in the classroom!


This year students at Mayesbrook Park Campus will being taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award to help build their confidence and expand their horizons.

Hannah Whitfield, PE teacher at Mayesbrook Park campus said: 'Being able to help students overcome barriers and reach their potential gives me a real sense of pride when they persevere and achieve their Awards.

'As well as doing the Award, taking part in the outdoors and adventurous activities and going on residential really help build a solid working relationships with students and at the same time developes a sense of what students care about and what they want to go on to do.'

Sixth per cent of Mayesbrook Park campus students said doing the Award boosted their communications skills.
